James William Flynn, Boston Massachusetts Artist
Graduate of Vesper George School of Art and continued studies at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (SMFA). While attending Vesper George in the mid-seventies I studied art under such distinguished teachers as Robert Douglas Hunter, Robert Cormier and Frank McWade to name but a few. After art school I pursued a career in commercial art and over the next 30 years I created advertisements and illustrations for a variety of corporations. In 2008 I decided to leave the corporate world and follow a different course, in 2010 I joined the Small Business Development branch of the United States Peace Corps and was stationed in Morocco. Working with Moroccan artisan to help with product branding and good business practices. Upon leaving the Peace Corps in 2012 I have reached back into my past to explore painting and drawing for pleasure again. I have since found that passion for fine art that had been left behind in the field of commercial art.
My foundation is set within the visions and techniques of such American artists as James McNeil Whistler, Edward Hopper and Robert Henri, as well as bringing the reflective light and color from the French Impressionists.
Welcome to my Gallery...
